About Megan

Hi friends and strangers, I’m Megan aka @shegotgame and I’m the founder of Megan Ann Wilson.com LLC., a consultancy specializing in the intersection of style, sport, sneakers and sustainability.

My niche began in the newsroom, where I created my sports and fashion blog, @shegotgame back in 2007, while working as a full-time archivist, a part-time stylist and a weekend environmentalist.

I realized that I was meant to work in fashion with a sports specialty rather than in sports broadcasting with a fashion angle. I left to cover the 2011 NBA All-Star Game as a style and sneaker industry reporter and discovered that I wanted to understand all aspects of the sneakers industry - and create products - so I studied athletic footwear design at Pensole at Parsons The New School for Design. For my final project, I designed a sneaker concept for Tom Ford and I showed it to an NBA player I knew through social media as I recognized athletes as the ideal target consumers for my designs. That September, thanks to a DM asking for design feedback - he officially became my first client.

Since 2011, my professional athlete styling clientele has grown to include NBA, NFL, MLB and overseas athletes. I’ve also served as a creative director and stylist on fashion projects for the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors, Nike, Air Jordan and Reebok. I’ve consulted and collaborated on brand direction, design, curation and strategy for major companies and agencies like Cornerstone, Ole Creative and Game 7 Marketing.

In 2019, I was hired by the MLB to style NL MVP Christian Yelich for the All-Star game. I in turn represented the MLB in outlets like Women’s Wear Daily to boost their credibility in the fashion space.

I’m also a featured athlete fashion and branding expert for outlets like CNN, GQ, Esquire, High Snobiety, Bleacher Report and NBATV and I’ve written for outlets like The Guardian, ESPN, Men’s Fitness and Complex. I’ve spoken on panels for major retailers like Nordstrom, and events like NBA All-Star Weekend and The Colorways festival.

Previously, I was the lead stylist and head of product development and design for The Veneka, a sustainable capsule wardrobe start-up. I also starred on YouTube Originals’ Lace Up: The Ultimate Sneaker Challenge, a reality competition show and released two collaborations with Nike and Cultivator that benefitted the ACLU.

I publish The SheGotGame Newsletter dedicated to demystifying the world of sustainable fashion within my aesthetics and athletics niche.

Based in New York City, I aim to collaborate on fashion projects marrying culture, sports and environmentalism with a special interest in circularity and entrepreneurship. My goal is to make sustainable fashion and footwear more accessible, equitable and educational for all.
